Psychological Counselor/Life Coach Practitioner

A few months ago, I was having a conversation with a young man. He said – “I think most of the time, I haven’t done anything till date. I often am in a state of frustration due to such thoughts”. I listened him implementing all sorts of communication skills. I acknowledged him and told him if it’s okay to ask THREE questions. He nodded. Then my questions began.

“Tell me, What do you want in Life?”- After hearing such questions, he told me numerous things that he wants in life- like financial freedom, successful career, beautiful wife and so on.

” Why do you want it?” – He was completely grizzled after hearing such question. He was completely silent for a while. He finally answered- “Because I want to be successful and happy.”

“What have you done in order to get it? ” – He again paused for a while and got irritated with such question. He finally told me he hasn’t done anything to get it.

With a light smile on my face!! I asked him- “how can you get what you want without taking an appropriate action?”  I further added – “If you do so, you will merely become a dreamer not a doer.”

Dear Readers!! I am asking you the same questions, please answer them whole heartedly. You can think or jot it down. If you feel like not to answer, then  it is still okay. You are not forced to answer these questions. It’s all about choice and personal freedom.

What do you want in life?

Why do you want it?

What have you done in order to get it?

Be a walker as well as a talker. When you talk a lot and do nothing, you won’t get what you desire. You must take a massive action. You might fail but you get lessons. In order to take an action, the reasoning (why questions) plays a dominant role. You might say, it’s willpower. Forget about will power. It’s time for why-power. Because the power of your why is what gets you to stick through the wearying, tiresome and laborious. All of the hows will be meaningless until your whys are powerful enough. If someone says you wake up at 4.00 am in the morning, you might not wake up because there might be no reason for you to wake up so early. But if your beloved friend is ill and taken hospital in the early morning at 4.00 am and you are informed about it. You will certainly wake up early in the morning and go to visit him/her. You see, when the reason is big enough, you will be willing to perform almost any how. Perhaps, it’s all about what, why and massive actions.

Good Luck

Pradip Parajuli

I am Pradip Parajuli. I have been in helping profession since 13 years. To tell the truth, I am a new Life Coach practitioner. Yet prior to becoming a Life Coach, I spent 5 years working as a Counselor; and before that I used to work as a Social Worker and Program Manager in a reputed International Non-governmental Organization. I am practicing Counseling as well as Life Coaching. From the get-go, I loved life coaching. As I kept going and trained in Counseling, Hypnotherapy, NLP, Life Coaching (Beginner to Advanced), my belief that I had found my niche in life was cemented. That niche is to help people get unstuck and find more purpose and enjoyment in their lives.
I genuinely do understand when clients say they’re looking for a change, but don’t know what it is yet or how to achieve it. Because I have been there, done that and thankfully was lucky enough to walk away to now be doing a job where I never have to think “Thank God it’s Friday (TGIF).”
