Simply, the word ‘gratitude’ means a feeling of appreciation. I have been practicing gratitude for many years that I find is good for positive mental health. I used to complain about the things that I didn’t have, looking at others wishing I had what they had, was waiting for something miraculous happens in life that make me happy. I found out that it was a ‘scarcity mindset. ‘ Gratitude makes one aware about what they have and helps him/her to strive towards an abundance mindset. I use three types of Gratitude.
- Gratitude for the self: Appreciating self. It really gives positive vibes. Try it!! [ I am grateful for my sound mind and health, I am grateful for my capability, nature and so on.]
- Gratitude for your life: Appreciating your life. Try it!! [I am grateful for my family, I am grateful for the place where I live and so on.]
- Gratitude for the world: Appreciating the Universe. Try it!! [I am grateful for the nature, I am grateful for the sunshine, I am grateful for the cold breeze and so on.]
Gratitude brings peace, contentment and mindfulness. Many of us focus on the external things and wishes; and never retrospect the things that we have. Why not to express gratitude and cheer to life.
Are you ready? Visualize or write the things you are grateful for; and feel the difference.
